Bad Batch

Yes, is long but it’s a word!!! Read on....

Yesterday, I went to Wal-Mart. As soon as I walked in the door, I noticed the price on the seedless watermelons had dropped since the last time I was there....and it was a galore of them which was a sign that they may not be sweet, therefore causing them not to sell...but check this, how does one know if a watermelon is not sweet until it is cut into and tried? (Hmmm, CATCH THAT) So that tells me that it has been RUMORED that they are not sweet. Somebody told somebody and then that somebody told somebody else. “Girl don’t get a watermelon from Wal-Mart. They ain’t good.” And all of this started because of one person’s bad experience. (That’s big. Don’t miss that.).....bbbuuuuuuuutttt, I wanted one oh so badly that I was willing to take that chance.

Anyway, as I walked over to do the thump test and to pick up one, the door greeter said, “I wouldn’t do that if I was you. That’s a bad batch. They ain’t sweet at all.”

I looked at him and smiled and said, “Really?”’ He said, “That’s why they on sale. Get you one off side of the road.”

After a long pause,

I said, “I’m gonna try it anyway.”

I picked up one and placed it in the buggy and proceeded to get a couple more items.

-Stay with me...I’m going somewhere with this. I promise.-

I paid for my items and as I was walking out, I ran into the door greeter again. He asked to see my receipt, checked the items in my buggy using the receipt, and he jokingly said, “Keep your receipt. You’re gonna bring it back. Watch.”, with so much assurance.

Okay, fast forward to this morning...

After my workout, I ran upstairs anxiously, ready to cut into that cold watermelon that had been in the refrigerator since yesterday.

I cut into it, and ya’ll, let me say this....

Lord Jesus Christ!!!!!!

This is the sweetest watermelon that I have had in my 32 years of living. Literally! No exaggeration.

Here’s my point...FINALLY! Lol

Stop letting people talk you out of what could be the best thing that has ever happened to you. I’ve seen so many people miss out on relationships, friendships, jobs, business opportunities, etc, just because of what SOMEBODY said. Just because one person has a bad experience does not mean that you will have that same experience. My marriage failed, miserably, but who am I to tell everyone else- “Girl, don’t get married. The man is going to change once ya’ll are married and you’re going to be miserable.” That was my bad experience. And yes, I get it, that sometimes we have to take wise counsel; however, we cannot let everyone speak in our ears. Pray, pray, and pray some more for discernment. It’s so important that we have our own minds and follow His specific instruction FOR US. My instructions will not look like yours and yours will not look like mine.

Had I listened to Mr. Man I would’ve missed out on this sweet, juicy Watermelon that I’m about to demolish.

Date that guy/girl! Try that business venture! Apply for that job! Move to that city! Book that trip!!!...and silence those “Somebody said” people. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
