NOT A WORD

Shhhhhhhhh! 🤫🤐

If you are going to get to where God is taking you, you are going to have to learn to “let” people talk. The truth of the matter is there will always be at least one person who will always speak negatively about you whether you are doing good or bad, whether you are leading people to Heaven or hell.

There are some people who will find a negative in a room full of positives.

If you are one who feels you have to stop to address every critic and negative comment, clear up every rumor, or straighten out every lie, then you will never get to where God is taking you….you will  NEVER reach the next level.

We have to learn to stop responding to everything. A wise person once told me, “It is not what they call you or what they say about you, it is what you answer and respond to”, and that blessed my life. Since that moment, I have learned to preserve my words and have learned that silence is a response and there is power in silence.

As the younger crowds urge us to do- “come” when we are “sent for”- I urge the opposite! Do NOT. We do NOT have to "come" every time someone "sends” for us. We do not have to attend every argument or fight we are invited to…

Read Nehemiah 6.

He was on an assignment from God. They were "sending” for him. He didn't "come". Instead, he replied in verse 3: “…so I replied by sending this message to them: “I am engaged in a great work, so I can’t come. Why should I stop working to come and meet with you?”

And that’s just that. We should, too, be like Nehemiah- intensely engaged in our God-given purposes that we do not allow the distractions to distract us.

We have to accept the fact that not everyone is going to support us, root for us, agree with us, accept us, like us, or understand us.

If we are going to reach our highest potential, we have to be okay with that.

Some people come with a sole purpose of distracting and hindering

…and it is important we recognize who these people. That is why it is important to ask God for wisdom and discernment.

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

John 10:10 NLT

I’ll close with this…

When I think about the power of silence, I’m also reminded of Jesus’ crucifixion. They lied on and accused Him of so much.

Read Matthew 27:12-14…

“But when the leading priests and the elders made their accusations against him, Jesus remained silent. “Don’t you hear all these charges they are bringing against you?” Pilate demanded. But Jesus made no response to any of the charges, much to the governor’s surprise.”

Notice, at a time when Jesus had so much He could have said, He said nothing at all…because He knew that His father in Heaven knew the truth. He knew the accusations were false. He knew they were making it all up…

And that’s what we have to do- say nothing at all. Yes, lies and negativity sting and seem to travel faster than the truth, but one thing about the truth, it needs no help and it will always prevail.

Let them talk.

Let them make up false allegations.

Be quiet.

Close your mouth.

Shhhhhhh…

Not A Word! ❤️
